May 22 | Using Data to Close Equity Gaps in Education: Data Walk
Interested in the intersections of data, policy and education? Join Young Education Professionals Bay Area and the Education Pioneers Bay Area Alumni Board on Wednesday, May 22nd to explore how to use data to close equity gaps in our education system!
A Data Equity Walk is an activity launched by the advocacy organization Education Trust-West that convenes community members to dive into data that shows education outcomes and exposes gaps between groups of students. The goal of Data Equity Walks is to empower stakeholders with the knowledge needed to hold school, district, and state leaders accountable for better student outcomes—and to support them in getting there.
During this event, you'll have the opportunity to:
* Individually reflect on education data showing district or school performance across different measures like student achievement and school climate
* Meet diverse education professionals in small groups as you discuss implications of this data
* Hear stories and ideas as your group works to identify solutions that address disparities and improve outcomes
Light Refreshments will be served.
* Parking might be limited, so feel free to carpool or take public transportation.
