School's Out Happy Hour Thursday, June 6th at 6pm School is out for summer, and what better way to celebrate than joining Young Education Professionals-Boston for our School's Out Happy Hour? Join us Thursday, June 6 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Aeronaut Brewing Co. for an evening of networking, drinks, and, of course, shop talk about education. All are welcome - whether you're simply interested in education, teaching in the classroom, or working on behind the scenes policy or research. We look forward to seeing you there! YEP-Boston & 5th Annual Education Trivia Night Tuesday, March 26th at 7pm - 9:30 We're partnering with 730 Tavern to have an epic education-inspired trivia night. Get the chance to prove your trivia prowess, have fun, and compete for a chance to win cash prizes! You don't have to be a curriculum expert or an ed policy wonk -most of our trivia questions might be asked at a regular trivia night, just with an ed-inspired lean to it. Four Boston-based education organizations, Boston Edtech Meetup, LearnLaunch, Young Education Professionals & StudyPortals are teaming up to celebrate the holidays, education, and spreading some cheer in the process. Networking Happy Hour with Education Pioneers On January 21st YEP-Boston and Education Pioneers connected for an informal networking event co-sponsored by YEP-Boston and Education Pioneers. Folks working in or interested in the education or nonprofit sector and prospective applicants for Education Pioneers’ Graduate School Fellowship attended. Panel: Scaling Volunteers in Public Schools YEP-Boston partnered with City Awake to talk about Social Impact at the Microsoft NERD Center for a panel discussion on scaling volunteers in public schools. Our panel featured distinguished and visionary leaders in the education sphere including Pamela Civins, Executive Director of Boston Partners in Education; Scott Frost, BPS teacher and former French-trained chef and Boston Partners in Education volunteer; Alan Safran, Co-founder and President of SAGA Innovations, Inc. and former Executive Director of Match; and Antonio Gutierrez, Co-founder of SAGA Innovations, Inc. and former Match HS student. LearnLaunch Institute and YEP-Boston host EdTech Pitch Night! Six edtech startups pitched their products to a live audience, judged by four teachers and administrators. The winners were InterLACE (judges pick) and AutismSees (audience favorite). Wednesday, January 21st: Networking Happy Hour with Education Pioneers Join us on January 21st from 5:30-7:30pm at Meadhall for an informal networking event co-sponsored by YEP-Boston and Education Pioneers. This event is open to folks working in or interested in the education or nonprofit sector, as well as all prospective applicants for Education Pioneers’ Graduate School Fellowship. ![]() Join us the evening of Thursday October 17, 2013 at Julep's Bar from 7:30-9:30 to help us celebrate the first anniversary for YEP-Boston in the Greater Boston area. Cocktails for a Cause (C4C) is a dress-to-impress, bring-a-friend affair and there is no charge for this event. #YEPBostonAnniv1
During the celebration, we are also raising awareness for the "cause" Cradles to Crayons (C2C)-an organization whose mission is to provide children ages 0 to 12 with some of the most important basics of life free of charge. This is YEP-Boston's first service activity. If interested in participation, you may bring an approved item with you to C4C or you can either sign-up now to donate your time (Registration code:a0RC000000Cp1B6) or wait to sign up at C4C.
