Young Education Professionals National Team is Growing! Meet Our Newest Team Member.
WASHINGTON, DC – We are pleased to announce that Nur Rachma has joined the Young Education Professionals National team as our Marketing Communications Director.
Nur Rachma has a passion for education and advocacy. Although she does not have an educational background, education is one of the many things she always advocates for. By day, she works for a nonprofit organization as a Communications Fellow and Organizer. She has been gaining experience working with nonprofit organizations since she graduated with her B.A. in 2020 from the University of Maryland. Over the last two years, she has been collaborating with a few organizations to advocate and provide resources for education and work access for undocumented youth and immigrants in the U.S. From Nur: “I’m excited to join the Young Education Professionals National team. As an advocate for undocumented youth, I understand the value of an education and the importance of access to education. I have always wanted to collaborate with other professionals to improve education access, and I finally have a chance to do that. I am looking forward to meeting and collaborating with other education professionals around the country.” Sean Robins, Executive Director of YEP National states, "We are excited to have Nur join the YEP National team, where she will help us in overseeing our communication's strategy, lifting the voices of our chapters, and supporting our chapters through strengthening the YEP National brand. As we look forward to 2023, we are thrilled to expand our team to help support our chapters and members while we continue to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic." Additionally, our current Communications Director, Christine Bediones, will be transitioning into a new role with us at YEP National. Christine will now be serving as our Community Director. In this role, she will be supporting our chapters and helping to foster more collaboration and connectedness throughout the YEP community. We are excited for Christine to take on this new opportunity to help YEP National strengthen our chapters and the cross collaboration that occurs. Sean Robins states, "Christine has been a wonderful team member that has been able to leverage her experiences as a former YEP-Bay Area chapter leader on the YEP National team. As our new Community Director, Christine will continue to support our chapter leaders strengthen the work in their communities, while creating additional collaboration throughout our organization."
