ENRICHED SCHOOLS

Enriched is a new, innovative community talent hub that supports student learning in DC. We connect schools with awesome flexible staff, like substitute teachers and guest speakers. As a part-time guest educators, you'll teach in one of our partner schools, however many days per month they specify. We'll match you with schools, grade levels, and subjects that are a good fit for your skills and interests-- and you'll get the chance to work with students and educators across the city. Let's rethink and redesign substitute teaching together.
LEARNING EDUCATORS

To achieve our vision of great schools for all students, Leading Educators partners with high-need schools in Washington, D.C. to maximize the leadership development of highly effective teachers. Leading Educator’s mission is to advance teachers’ leadership skills and prepare them for success in teacher leadership positions where they serve as coaches and mentors to other teachers in their building. Leading Educators addresses three critical national needs in education: (1) closing the achievement gap between children from low-income communities and their more affluent peers, (2) increasing teacher retention, especially in schools serving minority students, ensuring that our most talented educators remain in the profession, and (3) expanding the reach of excellent educators and increasing educator collaboration to drive school-wide change and improvement in student achievement.
LIFE PIECES TO MASTERPIECES

Life Pieces To Masterpieces uses artistic expression to develop character and leadership, unlock potential, and prepare African American boys and young men to transform their lives and communities. We serve black men and boys ages 3-25 in Wards 7 and 8 across three programs: 1) After School Program (ages 3-13) 2) Saturday Academy College and Career Prep Program (ages 14-18) and Education Architects Program (ages 18-25)

UNCOMMON SCHOOLS

Uncommon Schools (Uncommon) is a nonprofit organization that starts and manages outstanding urban charter public schools that close the achievement gap and prepare low-income students to graduate from college. Uncommon builds uncommonly great schools by developing and managing regional networks that are philosophically aligned and highly accountable and by designing and implementing “best-in-class” teacher training.
URBAN TEACHER CENTER

Urban Teachers is transforming the way people are prepared for a career in teaching. Through hands-on training, coaching and peer supports, we give teachers the skills they need to improve outcomes for students in high-need communities. By doing so, our teachers are changing the lives of the students, families and communities they serve, as well their own.
WASHINGTON LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

WLA is a public charter high school, opening in August, 2016. WLA provides its students with a personalized, tech-enriched academic program, as well as robust experiential learning opportunities to support success through college and lives of public leadership.
YEAR UP

Year Up is a non-profit organization that supports low-income young adults with one year of hands-on job training and corporate internships. Their impact is incredible - 85% of Year Up graduates are employed or attending college full-time within four months of completing the program. The Young Education Professionals group was created by Year Up to leverage the experiences and networks of young professionals in DC in order to support current Year Up students.
