FAQs
How do I get involved with YEP?
First, we highly recommend you join one of our chapters. Each chapter has ways to get involved virtually and through events. Second, if you love being a part of YEP, and we hope you do, then we encourage you to speak with the YEP leadership in your area to see how you can get more involved. Go to the "Chapters" tab to find out how to get involved with or contact a particular chapter.
How much does it cost to join a YEP chapter?
Joining any YEP chapter is free! From time to time, chapters may charge a fee for a specific event. For more information on joining, please visit the "Chapters" tab to find out how to get involved with or contact a particular chapter.
I have a job/event I want to post. How do I do that?
Each chapter has its own ways to share jobs, events, and other items. You can learn about how by going to the Chapter page, clicking on the chapter location of your choice, and then going to that chapter's Get Involved page.
Please note that there is currently no easy way to share information with more than one chapter at a time. We hope, in the future, that this possibility will exist but don't anticipate it happening in the near future. More information on this topic, including posting guidelines, will be available soon!

How do I give you money? The work you are doing is awesome!
If you are interested in funding YEP National, we'd love to talk with you! Please contact us at info [at] youngedprofessionals [dot] org. If you are interested in funding a chapter, please refer to that chapter's pages on this website for contact info. Please note that currently, YEP-DC is the only chapter that is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt organization. You can donate to YEP-DC on their Donate page.
Can I get a job with YEP?
Currently, we are an entirely volunteer-run organization so we do not have any paying jobs. If you would like to get involved with a specific chapter, we encourage you to contact that chapter directly.
What is your stance on [insert education issue here]?
We believe that education needs to be improved. We believe that people make better decisions together rather than in silos. Beyond that, we are nonpartisan.
I'm XX-years-old. Is that considered "young"?
We have no upper age limits. Because we are a professional organization, our target audience is college graduates over the age of 21. The average age of members in the DC chapter is 25-34.
Where are you located?
YEP National is based out of Washington, DC and grew out of the first YEP chapter, YEP-DC. We currently have chapters in the Bay Area, Boston, Birmingham, Colorado, DC, New York City, and the Twin Cities.
What types of events do you hold?
Each chapter decides what types of events to have. Past events have included happy hours, panels, Promise Neighborhood tours, and community service days. Click here for some examples of past events from YEP-DC.
